Dick received the Purple Heart from the U. He was a life member of Duck Creek VFW Post #7534 and the Russell Leicht Chapter #3 Disabled American Veterans. He then joined the United States Army from 1950 to 1953, was wounded in Korea in 1951 and discharged in July of 1953.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1947 to 1950. He was born Januto the late Bert and Lucille (Brunette) Compton in Green Bay. Compton, Sr., 79, Green Bay, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, after a long courageous battle with cancer with his family at his side.
